Sound Level Meters

Sound level meters are used when trying to determine the need for hearing protection in an industrial arena. Sound level meters can help you decide what the correct level of hearing protection is needed for your workplace. When using a sound meter you can select from type 1 or 2 accuracy level depending on your requirements. Frequency weighting allows you to select from up to three weightings: A, C, or Z. To simulate the response of the human ear, select A weighting; C weighting has a flatter response to lower frequencies and Z is flat over the entire range. Time weighting allows you to select from slow or fast response to changes in sound level. Some meters also feature min/max, average, Leq, Lp, Ldod, run time, overload, and under range.
