Easy to set up. Easy to read. Heavy duty and hopefully more accurate than the cheesy ones from the hardware store.

We are replacing one that we've used for 15 years. It finally gave up. We have hot summers and it was getting hard to read.

Comments about Cole-Parmer Clear Rain Gauges, 0.01 to 11.0":

I use my gauge as a hobby. It's on the fence in my backyard. Louisiana weather is not nice to plastic. Blistering heat and sometimes freezing temps take their toll, but this gauge lasted me 8 years, so it's durability is proven. I've bought another one to replace it. [...] "Laplace Louisiana Rainfall Data" and you'll find a spreadsheet with my recorded data.I always compare my readings to the local schools weather station and it's always "right there". The school is a few miles from me and in Louisiana you can get 2" of rain a block away and not a drop where you are in summer, so I can't always compare. I'd highly recommend this gauge. And remember, accuracy depends on location. I really can't find any cons.

Easy to use, but looks like it might not be very durable.
