  • An excellent selection for most basic industrial flow metering applications
  • Battery-powered to eliminate the need for expensive wiring
  • Sanitary units are perfect for micro-brewing and wine making processes
  • Two totalizers allow for process or period-specific volume monitoring
  • Enclosure is NEMA 4 for Class I, Division I environments

These heavy-duty in-line flowmeters / totalizers display flow rate and accumulated flow in GPM or LPM.

The NEMA enclosure is suitable for indoor/outdoor use in dusty, dirty and wet environments. This compact yet robust design makes them ideal for use in manufacturing, pilot-plant, or quality control areas.
All flowmeters measure linearly across a range and record a cumulative volume plus a resettable volume. Meters are factory-calibrated using water but can store 2 application-specific K-factors determined in-process. To conserve power, the six-digit display automatically turns on with flow and then turns off four minutes after flow ceases.
Wetted components are 316 SS or aluminum housing, PVDF rotor and supports, tungsten carbide shaft, 316 SS retainers, and ceramic bearings. The internal parts are simple to replace for easy maintenance (contact Cole-Parmer Applications if necessary).
Meters operate on two lithium batteries. Remote installation of the flowmeter body is possible using the optional remote installation kit (order separately). Replacement battery kits, output modules, and calibration containers can be ordered below.

  • Q:

What grade tungsten carbide is used for the shaft of the turbine flow meters such as the EW-05609-09?. Is the fluid going to be in contact with the tungsten carbide?

      A:

The only information on the tungsten carbide is that it is 6% cobalt sub micron grade.

  • Q:

i have a 2.5" supply and return line that serve my equipment, my total connected load to this is 9.5 gpm, i'm considering the 3/4"
cat.# R-05609-09. how much straight run of 3/4" do i need for optimum accuracy. i may also go with the same type in 1" size.

    thanks

      A:

Upstream from the turbine, allow a minimum straight pipe length at least 10 times the internal
diameter of the turbine e.g. about 10" for 3/4"NPT. Downstream from the turbine, allow a minimum straight pipe length at least 5 times the internal diameter of your turbine.
