The CoolCube delivers a power step-down function to a solenoid valve. Using AMP or Molex connectors, it accepts either a 12 or 24 VDC input and passes the input on to the solenoid valve with full power for 110 msec. After 110 msec, the CoolCube drops the voltage and current to a level sufficient to hold the solenoid in the energized position, thereby minimizing power consumption and heat generation. The CoolCube can remain under power indefinitely without being damaged. When the power is cut, the valve is turned off immediately, as though the CoolCube were not in the system.
The CoolCube permits placing an overdrive voltage on a solenoid valve. This means that a solenoid valve rated for 12 VDC can be energized with a voltage of 24 VDC. Since the CoolCube automatically drops the voltage after 110 msec, the solenoid will not be impaired in any way. Accepts 36 VDC maximum.

      A:

      When a CoolCube™ is connected between a solenoid valve and a power supply, it delivers a pulse width modulated (PWM) "step-down" function or an overdrive function. It accepts a range of inputs from 12 to 36 VDC and passes the input on to energize the solenoid valve.
      For wiring, you can use an AMP, Molex, or similar connector to connect the CoolCube to the DC power Supply. A AMP, Molex, or similar connector is then used to connect the valve lead wires to the CoolCube. No polarity to the solenoid coil is required.

      This item is recommended for use with 12 to 36 VDC solenoid valves. The cool cube will thread to the top of the valve. If the top of the valve does not have a thread, then it can still be wired separately.

      The pins are 14.5 mm apart on the longer side and and 5.1 mm apart on the shorter side. The total length of the cool cube from the top of the pin to the bottom is 16.5 mm.
