  • Monitor minimum and maximum temperatures- all at a single glance
  • Easy-view, jumbo 1½-inch-high digits may be read from 30-feet.
  • Glass bottle probe are sealed and filled with nontoxic glycol solution.
  • Sensor with 10-foot cable.
The jumbo digit thermometer is designed for monitoring freezers, water baths, heating blocks, incubators, refrigerators and other gerneral-purpose applications. Triple display simultaneously shows maximum, minimum, and current probe temperatures plus room temperature. Min/max monitors high/low readings overnight, on weekends, or for any time period—a significant advantage over reading-only glass thermometers. Alarm feature provides alert when temperature rises above or falls below a set point. Alarm is programmable in 1° increments. Ten-foot micro-cable with solid-state probe permits doors to close on it and eliminates mercury contamination.

Digital thermometers are inexpensive, easy-to-use instruments that display temperature in a fast-responding digital format. Digital thermometers come in pocket-sized, remote, wall, panel-mount and even tabletop versions. They typically have a stainless steel probe sheath with thermistor or diode sensor. Probes can have varying lengths and are even equipped with extension cables for difficult to access temperature measurement. Wireless thermometers are also available for remote digital temperature monitoring. NSF-approved thermometers are waterproof to allow complete sanitization and some even add antimicrobial protection. Pocket thermometers usually require a battery but are available solar-powered for temperature monitoring over an extended period of time. Dual-channel indicators can provide indoor/outdoor comparisons while min/max thermometers give a digital readout of highest and lowest temperatures read. Davis Instruments features general purpose digital thermometers from trusted brands including Extech, Taylor, Cole-Parmer, Oakton, Testo, and Comark. Model 94460-82 is supplied with special bottle probe specifically designed for refrigerator/freezer applications. The temperature sensor is enclosed in a bottle, which protects it from rapid temperature changes when refrigerator door is opened.

  • Q:

I have a Cole-Parmer Jumbo Display Table/Wall-Mount thermometer. This uses a glycol bottle. It works fine except the minimum reading on the lower left says LL.L. It has been installed for 7 hours. When does it record a minimum temp? The current and the MAX temp are working fine.

      A:

The "LL.L" is referring to either probe damage or an issue with probe connectivity. Try disconnecting and re-seating the temperature probe. Then, you will want to clear the MIN and MAX. This should clear the "LL.L" message. If this does not clear the message than the probe is damaged and the thermometer needs to be replaced.

It is a certificate that states it was factory tested and calibrated using NIST-traceable standards and was found to respond within the specified tolerance.

  • Q:

Hi. Will the product work even if the wire to the bottle is cut and the bottle is not replaced? If I strip the end of the wire and just expose it to the refrigerator air, will the reading still be accurate? Cause if not, maybe I'd be better off buying the model without the bottle. Thanks

The wire will rust due to condensation and will no longer work.

Comments about Jumbo Refrigerator/freezer thermometer with Bottle Sensor:

I am not a student, but a home owner who purchased this unit for my deep freezer. I choose this unit because of the (assumed) accuracy, (assumed) industrial quality and alarm feature.

I have been pleased with the unit. It is easy to operate and set up, though the Outside and Inside temperatures appear to be switched on my unit. The alarm is loud enough for a lab but I wish it were even louder (my deep freezer is in the basement which only go into weekly). I can not verify it's accuracy.

For the cost of the food in the freezer, I feel this was a worthwhile purchase.
