This thermometer takes fast and accurate measurements anywhere. Tapered probe can be used in solids, semisolids, liquids and gases. Large ½” high display provides great visibility.     The description of adjustable angle thermometer EW-90382-00 states that the probe is tapered, however, when I enlarge the photo I do not see a tapered probe. There was a vesion of this product, catalog number A-90381-00, that actually shows a tapered probe with a 4 second reading. Does EW-90382-00 have a tapered probe as the previous model.

      I enlarged the picture as well and see that the tip is tapered, or made for penetration. The probe is not tapered from end to tip, but rather just the tip is tapered. The main portion of the probe/shaft is not tapered.

      This model does have a tapered tip, which makes it ideal for penetration into various matierals (such as food). It is difficult to see in the picture.

- Must wait over a minute for temperature to equilibrate.
-The button for switching between C and F degrees was stuck on C after using for 2 weeks. Our mechanics opened the unit and repaired.
-Unit is lightweight.
-The price is good and accurate for general use.
