      A:

You would choose a meter based on the maximum velosity range and accuracy you need. With that in mind you may want to look into a meter like part number 10321-20.

When testing air flow in our hoods the slightest draft sends the numbers flying. It is next to impossible to get a steady result.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Well Calibrated

Cons

  • Inaccurate

Best Uses

Comments about Extech Instruments Extech<reg> Heavy-Duty Hot-Wire Thermo-Anemometer:

The reading bounces around too much when I know the air flows are stable. There should be more stability in the reading. It is easy to zero when needed. I like the protective cap for the probe tip. Very rugged. Just not stable enough for fine measurements around 100 fpm.
