We Gave Up on it!
By Please stop the Beep!
About Me Professional
Comments about Extech Humidity Temperature/Humidity Paperless Recorder:
The menus are hard to work, the keystrokes are cryptic, and it's difficult to tell one screen from the next. The date/time changes based on if the unit is in "alarm" mode, which is most of the time. The alarm triggers a audio beep that cannot be shut off for more than a minute at a time. We cut the wire to the speaker to quiet it permanently. We bought it to monitor an incubator and it was so hard to use and understand that we gave up!Spend the extra and buy an old-fashioned circular chart recorder - that's what we did.Bottom line - it's an expensive green paperweight.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Inexpensive, good value recorder
By Soap guy
Note Extech is a division of FLIR.These are cheap and easy and can run unattended for very long periods. There are other models suited to using in shipping containers and so forth.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Hot Yoga Studio
By Denise the Yogini

About Me Casual Do-It-Yourselfer
We use this product to confirm the temperature and humidity levels in our Bikram Yoga Studio. It has been quite useful as the wall thermostat controls only gauge the air temp once its in the vent in the wall and we need to know what the temp and humidity is in the actual room. We love it and so do our yoga customers.
A reliable, easy to use Temp/%RH monitor
This is a very good temp and %RH monitor that can be used in a R & D laboratory (Pharmaceutical). This replaces costly cGMP chart recorders. Calibration is cheaper than a chart recorder and sufficient memory to run more than a month with 15 min intervals.Only problem with this unit is that you have to enter data collection interval when you down load the data to a computer. If a wrong data collection interval is entered, the unit will download wrong data and the user would not know if it were correct or not. Apart from this issue, this unit is a very reliable unit to use in a lab.
Nice concept but....
About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
This is a what I really wanted for a dryer monitoring equipment. You can monitor temperature and humidity. You can also review what has happened with the temperature or rh when you are away. The bad thing with this is the construction material seems to be flimsy and made of low grade plastic. I am afraid it will crack in sooner. Also the rubber buttons do not respond easily. I have to press it really hard.Overall, its like a good book with a bad cover.

Data transfer Problems!
By Just anouther Tech.
from Thousand Oaks, CA
I am using 5 units in my work and like the large screen that shows the data trend, but I have learned to hate this unit when transfering the data into my computer for storage.Unit has data errors and will then return only partial information. Lost 3 months out of 5 months of testing Temp. Do Not Use if the data is to be saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are using this as a back up system in a large seed storage cooler. We used a USB to a RJ45 adaptor and down load weekly data to excel. so far so good. No need to go and down load at the device as the pc is 165 feet away.
Step up from paper chart recorders
By Calibration Lab
from Minneapolis, MN
About Me Student
Using them for monitoring ambient conditions, they allow easy viewing of current conditions as well as review of previously recorded conditions without the hassle of paper charts or ink cartridges. Would be even more useful if device came with a NIST-traceable calibration from the factory, but definitely not a deal-killer.
It is good for what it is

About Me Lab Assistant
We have two of these instruments is the lab and they work great as a visual reference to trends in temperature and humidity. Nevertheless, the data software is not the best, it work to retrieved the data stored and export to an excel work sheet for better data analyses.

About Me Academic/Professional Researcher
This product was purchased to replace our paper chart recorders. It is great because I can set the device to record every 15 min. and scroll back to view almost 2 years of lab conditions for when I get audited.
