Temperature indicator features selectable temperature scale (°F/°C), high/low set points, min/max reading, data hold, alarm icons, and low-battery indicator.Digital thermometers are inexpensive, easy-to-use instruments that display temperature in a fast-responding digital format. Digital thermometers come in pocket-sized, remote, wall, panel-mount and even tabletop versions. They typically have a stainless steel probe sheath with thermistor or diode sensor. Probes can have varying lengths and are even equipped with extension cables for difficult to access temperature measurement. Wireless thermometers are also available for remote digital temperature monitoring. NSF-approved thermometers are waterproof to allow complete sanitization and some even add antimicrobial protection. Pocket thermometers usually require a battery but are available solar-powered for temperature monitoring over an extended period of time. Dual-channel indicators can provide indoor/outdoor comparisons while min/max thermometers give a digital readout of highest and lowest temperatures read. Davis Instruments features general purpose digital thermometers from trusted brands including Extech, Taylor, Cole-Parmer, Oakton, Testo, and Comark. • Q:

Product title says 9.2ft cable, but specs say 5 foot cable with 4.1 inch probe. Is the cable 9.2 ft or 5 ft?

  • Q:

My company was planning to use these thermometers to measure temps between windows and storm glazing at various times of the day/week, over a period of time. The device would be visible but out of reach. Is the digital display constantly on or does the display go blank? If it is left "on", what is a reasonable expectation for battery life?

Thanks, Joe Beyer, Pres. Beyer Studio of Stained Glass, Phila.
Asked on 8/4/2015 by Stained Glass restorer from Philadelphia

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

The display will stay on. The battery life is determined by the battery quality; the power draw is minimal and there is a low battery indicator. A good quality new battery should last several months.

  • Q:

I recently purchased a TM25 for my indoor garden room. It seems to be functioning correctly, however, I didn't receive any instructions with the product and I can't figure out how to reset the min/max temperature after a reading - can you help me with this issue?
Asked on 12/27/2013 by Brad from Grand Rapids, Mi

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

To reset the MAX and MIN values press and hold the MAX‐MIN button for 3 seconds while the MAX or MIN icon is visible. To return to normal operation press the MAX/MIN key again; the HOLD‐MIN‐MAX indicators should now be off.

Comments about Extech TM25 Waterproof Thermometer; 4.1" SS Probe, 9.2' Cable:

This is very good thermometer but make sure it will not use for high temperature (>200C) otherwise plastic from this equipment will burn out...
