The EchoSonic II™ general purpose two-wire ultrasonic transmitter provides non-contact
level measurement up to 32.8 ft (10 m), and is well suited for challenging ultrapure, corrosive, slurry or waste liquids. The transmitter is broadly selected for atmospheric bulk storage, day tank, waste sump, process vessel, IBC tote, 55-gallon drum and waste sump applications. Media examples include acetic acid and resin.

The Fob USB interface tool (LI99-1001) is necessary to change EchoSonics from the factory configuration. One Fob will configure multiple EchoSonics.

    All we need is a signal at low level to turn off a polymer pump. Can this be wired to a switch to cut power to the pump at a programmed level with the ultrasonic probe only or is a plc necessary?

      A:

      This is an ultrasonic level transmitter. It is constantly measuring the level of fluid and transmitting that via 4-20mA analog output. You could connect this to a PLC and program the PLC to turn off the pump at your selected level. An easier and less expensive method would be to use the 07506-17 switch/controller. This comes with 4 SPST relays to be configured as you require.
