Best Probes Ever

Comments about GLI Differential pH electrode, 10-ft cable, LCP body:
Hach bought the GLI line years ago, these are either Hach or Old. It is easy to tie the 4-20 mA version (6458P0) to a PLC (built in temp compensation). The one listed here has a thermister, but is 5-wire and requires a meter connected to it in order to create a 4-20 mA signal. On clean water these can last over 5 years (I have been running them more than 15). On inorganic acid / caustic they should last 2 years +, calibrate monthly, they are stable until you need to replace salt bridge or refill fluid. These do have an exposed glass bulb at the bottom, so if you wack it on something your loose you thousand dollar probe. They are very chemically inert, so unless you mechanically damage them they should last years. Of course keep them wet, after all they are a pH probe.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Academic/Professional Researcher
The probe works great for a couple of weeks, then stops working completly. We have gone thru several units at our facility, only to have to return it back for a warranty replacement. I give it a half-star, for quality and durrability.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
