Measure batch and cumulative totals in liquid transfer systems with these sturdy meters. Nylon meters are designed to measure water. Aluminum meters are designed to measure petroleum fuels. Meters can be used on any pump, pressure, or gravity feed systems. The batch total can be reset to measure flow for a single use. The cumulative total will automatically be reset to zero when the maximum reading of 9999 is met. Water models are nylon; fuel models are aluminum.

    • Q:

If the flow rate drops below 3 GPM for a period of time, will the volume for that period of time be excluded from the totalizer readout?
Asked on 7/3/2012 by Jerry from St. Louis, MO

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Flow does not register below 1.5 GPM; the meter shuts itself off and flow is not calculated below that point.

    • Q:

Can this item be used to measure gallons of water usage? If so, how would it work? Thanks

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Yes this will measure 3 to 30GPM flow rates as well as batch and cumulative totals. The batch total can be reset to measure flow for a single use. The cumulative total will automatically be reset to zero when the maximum reading of 9999 is met.

    • Q:

How is the calibration, is this flowmeter designed for everyday day use in a lab, to output 500 liters per day without having a problem with the calibration ?

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

This products does not need frequent calibration for most applications, it depends on the standards and procedures of your laboratory setting. • Q:

Is the microcontroller inside this device potted? If not can you please provide the type or model number? I am looking for an inexpensive way to import flow rate into LabVIEW and if I am able to access the uC inside of this device I believe this will be simple.

        A:

This unit is not intended as an output device and use outside of its intended purpose would void the warranty.
Part number 32250-52 was one of the more inexpensive units that would handle the same flow range and have an output (square wave pulse or open collector)

    • Q:

Can this meter be mounted to any pipe? If so, how?

        A:

This unit has 1" NPT female threads on both ends. You may need fittings to reduce or expand to fit your lines. As long as the pressure and flow are within specifications it should work. There will be pressure increases if you put this unit inline with larger pipes. Please contact our technical application specialists for additional assistance (contact information can be found in the "contact us" section on the web page).

No, this unit does not have any additional outputs other than the display.
