        A:

This cutter is intended for flexible tubing, and softer rigid tubing. Polyethylene tubing has a durometer and shore value of 50 (D). Bev-a-line IV and V is much harder with a 80(D) rating. We do not recommend this cutter for such hard tubing. The Bev-a-line XX has a 55(D) rating and this cutter should be okay on that formulation, but on diameters less than 1".

Comments about Cole-Parmer Hand-Held Tubing Cutter, PTFE coated steel, max 1-1/4" OD tubing:

We use these for cutting PFA tubing and the PTFE coating keeps the blade from rusting. They work perfect. Just FYI there is no spring in the handle great for storing the tool but not great if you need to make lots of repeated cuts.

The cutter has been a great way to cut the majority sizes of tubing that I stock in the inventory stockrooms.

Comments about Cole-Parmer Hand-Held Tubing Cutter, PTFE coated steel, max 1-1/4" OD tubing:

This tool is so handy to cut the plastic and rubber tubing we use in the pressure lab. We keep one in the tubing supply cabinet and one in the tool box to use on site. It's easy to manipulate one handed and you can easily line it up with any measurment mark you've made to ensure an acurate, straight, and clean cut
