Solid, but small and not so smart design
By Joe the pumper
from San Diego, CA
Comments about None Hand-operated siphon/lift pail pump, 32 strokes/gallon:
Works quite well, but:- Smaller than the photo makes it look -- meaning you need to pump a lot of short forth-and-back strokes.- Not so smart design - the handle is such that your knuckles hit the shaft when you pump.
The Hand-operated siphon/lift pail pump

About Me Academic/Professional Researcher
I use this hand-pump to transfer diesel fuel from a floor-standing 5-gallon pail to the fuel tank of John Deere 2320 garden tractor. The pump works properly. The lower inflow tube is 6'-long; the upper outflow tube is 3' (not the other way around as I read somewhere on-line). The pump has to be hand-held up in the air in my case, which is not a problem and is even convenient (I do not have to bend). Pumps effectively. Counting strokes is a good idea to know when to stop to avoid overflow. My wife helps me: holds the end of the outflow tube to the funnel with filter. This product can be recommended for an occasional use by owners of small-size tractors and similar equipment who do not have to refuel on the daily basis. I gave it only a 3-star rating because I thought it was overpriced. Otherwise, it is a perfectly functional product.

great little manual pump
By bob

I used this to prime a siphon hose to drain a pond. Had to pull the water over a 4 foot embankment using a 20 foot hose. Worked great. Lots of strokes to bring the water up.
Simple yet effective

Simple and effective. I needed a manual pump and I was dubious of the "automatic / battery" operated type hand pumps as to their effectiveness. So I purchased this manual one. The product is well constructed and uses thick tubing. It should last for a long time. [...]works great.
