  • Q:

Will this pump syphon oil from a Ford 1800 TDDi sump & if so is it syphoned through the dipstick access.
Asked on 5/27/2016 by john from United Kingdom

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This pump can siphon, however the fluid must have a max viscosity no higher than 500 SSU. It would siphon through the 16" inlet tube.

  • Q:

can these pumps be used safely for food grade liquid, more specifically pumping home made craft beer from one container to another?
Asked on 5/25/2016 by Dave from New Zealand

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This is not a FDA complaint pump. A better option might be 70607-22.

  • Q:

What is the diameter of the screw adapter attached to the pump?
Asked on 2/11/2016 by Cecelia from West Grove, PA

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

30.30mm However, it is not a screw in adapter. It just plugs into the pull out spout on a 5 gallon bucket lid.

  • Q:

What flow rates can be achieved... I want to pump 20 litre alcohol to a head height of 2 metre. Which of these pumps will achieve this?
Asked on 1/25/2015 by Casper from Belfast uk

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This pump can go 2 GPM (7.6 LPM). It should be able to obtain that amount of footage per head.

Will this item dispense chemicals & food grade liquid product from a standard 25litre plastic drum? Such as the one pictured here - http://www.smithsofthedean.co.uk/buckets-and-small-containers/Images/25-litre-c/25-litre-jerry.JPG

There are adapters available; you would need to know the thread size requirement of the container: 07079-10, 07079-15, 07079-17.

  • Q:

can this be used to collect water samples from a stream directly into a filter for metal analyses.
Asked on 1/21/2014 by LaJan from Wheaton, MD

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This is a hand held pump which dispenses fluid out through a discharge tube. The application would need to be done in such a way as to conform to this dispensing operation.
