      A:

      The outlet tubing size is 7/16" inner diameter X 9/16" outer diameter. There is no inlet tubing included with the pump; however, the hose barb is for 1/2" inner diameter flexible tubing. You would need to ensure your garden hose pipes would match those dimensions.

      The wetted material is PVC. I was unable to find chemical compatibility information on the exact formulation, but it is not compatible with similar formulations.

      This pump wetted parts are made of PVC, which has a C- Fair rating with unleaded gasoline: Moderate Effect,not recommended for continuous use. Softening, loss of strength, swelling may occur.

    Hello,
    I would like to use this pump to fill all the various orifices of my cars with Finnegan's waxoyl from a 5 ltr can. Can it cope with the viscosity ? (NB Waxoyl can be warmed and thinned by standing in a bucket of hot water or by using white spirit)

      A:

      This transfers liquid from the bottom of the PVC barrel inside a drum or vessel to the hose, outside of the vessel. PVC has an A rating with salt water up to 120°F.

      A:

      It will create a siphon under the right conditions. If the reservoir being emptied is higher than the destination vessel, then after a certain number of strokes, the column of liquid in the outlet hose will be heavier than the column of liquid in the inlet hose. Gravity pulling on the taller column reduces pressure in the shorter column, creating suction. If your conditions are different, then the siphon will not take effect and you would have to continuously stroke the pump to keep liquid flowing.

    This product is our go-to for extracting LNAPL from shallow monitoring wells. The thick transparent tubing that comes with the pump fits both the influent and effluent ends. We use this product for about four months until it is too oily to clean. The only annoying but definitely avoidable aspect is that when pumping, some oil can squeeze through the fractional space between the piston and the piston-holder. We easily solve this issue by holding sorbent paper next to this area and all free droplets are caught. The price might seem excessive for a pump but it's sturdy, powerful, has not broken once, is easy to clean, and does not clog - all worth the price, if you ask me.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    We used this pump once for pumping out 70 litters of 3 molar Nitric acid and also 200 litters of deionized water when we were doing a cleaning procedure of the central cathode for Dark matter search experiments.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
