  • Ensure optimal performance from your Masterflex® pump
  • Slightly greater clarity than peroxide-cured tubing
  • Smooth surfaces; lower protein binding levels
  • Fewer potential leachables
  • Ideal for pharmaceutical and biotechnology use
Masterflex L/S pump tubing is manufactured to extremely close tolerances that match our L/S pump heads, ensuring accurate, repeatable flow and long tubing life. Our pump tubing is factory-tested and optically inspected to provide the best performance from your peristaltic pump. Our High-performance precision pump tubing features a thicker wall compared to our Precision pump tubing, making it the best choice for applications involving pressure, suction lift, viscous fluids, or long tubing life.See 96119-24 for the irradiated version of this tubing.
Flow ranges are approximate—calculated under the following conditions: 0 psig at inlet, 0.5 psig at outlet; water temperature at 72°>F (22°>C). Actual performance varies depending on tubing formulation—silicone and C-Flex are only recommended for applications with 10 psig (0.7 bar) backpressure or less.

  • Q:

How many time silicone tubing be autoclave for surgery?any recommendations? Or protocol.
Asked on 6/2/2016 by Esakky from India,Mumbai.

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This tubing is autoclavable, however, Cole-Parmer does not sell or provide products for Medical use. The products offered are for laboratory and research use only and are not intended in the cure, mitigation, treatment, diagnosis or prevention of disease.

  • Q:

I am using silicone tubing L/S 25. What is the pressure of the solution (deionized water) in the tubing correspond to a flow rate of 500 mL/min?
    Asked on 2/1/2016 by Willie

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

The pressure depends on the flow path of the fluid. In other words, there is no pressure or very low pressure if this tubing is used in an open system.

  • Q:

Would silicon platinum cured tubing be compatible with Sulfuric acid or in what concentration it will be compatible, would cold Sulfuric acid be better for compatibility?
Asked on 8/31/2015 by Eugene from Canada

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

This tubing is not compatible with Sulfuric Acid. For concentrated Sulfuric acid I would suggest the Masterflex tubing formulations: C-Flex, C-Flex Ultra, Viton, or Chemdurance Bio.

  • Q:

What is the inner and outer circumference of this tubing?
Asked on 10/11/2012 by hh from hayward, ca

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

The inner diameter is 6.4 mm, since circumference = the diameter times Pi, it is about 20 mm.
The outer diameter and wall thickness are proprietary, so I am unable to provide the circumference for the outside.

Answered on 10/11/2012 by Jen from Technical Support
  • Q:

What is the burst pressure of this tubing? MasterFlex L/S 24 series?

Could determine if I knew the outer diameter and wall thickness, but perhaps this information is already on file and can be answered here.

    Thank you for your help,

      A:

Wall and OD are proprietary for the Masterflex L/S tubing line. We do not have burst pressure data, we have max pressure when used in our peristaltic systems, which is 40 psi. This is also the suggested max pressure when using hosebarb connections. We understand our customers may use our products in ways other than designed, it would be then up to the user/you to determine the appropriateness of the product. Silicone is not a high pressure kind of tubing generally though. I checked nominal tubing that had 1/4" ID, the maximum working pressure was 17 psi at room temp with a 1/8" wall. Burst pressure would be 5 times greater than the working pressure for this tubing (95802-14) or 85 psi. Please call us for further assistance.

  • Q:

What is the average lifetime of this tubing when used with the HV-77920-30 pump system?

      A:

Platinum-cured silicone, at a rate of 50 rpm (with water at STP) has an average life of 500 hours.

Please advise on chem compat of Pharmed BPT against 25% sulfuric Acid
Asked on 4/14/2011 by Chris from Hopkinton Massachusetts

    1 answer

    • STAFF EXPERT

      A:

We do not have specific compatibility information at this concentration of sulfuric acid. I would assume that PharMed tubing is not compatible with the acid at this high of a concentration.

  • Q:

Has this tubing been validated for post autoclave use yet?
Asked on 3/10/2011 by Thom from Burlington, MA

      A:

No, validation has not been done and is not planned. Please see part number 96420-24 for the validated platinum-cured silicone we currently offer.

  • Q:

I am pumping reagent throught silicon LS25 tubing ,where the product is 2 to 8 degree C.At the beginning of a batch we find the fill volumes start to drop and the pumps need to be recalibrated ,but as time goes on the fill volumes stabilise. Can you explain what is happening here.
    Asked on 1/27/2011 by Grace

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

We suggest letting the tubing "warm up" for about 20 minutes prior to calibration so the tubing can get worn in a bit. The warm up process could be something like pumping the solution in a closed loop for 20 minutes. Tubing starts out a little stiff, after 20 minutes it becomes more pliable and the reason for the difference.

      A:

Yes, this tubing is designed to work with 77250-62.

Comments about Masterflex platinum-cured silicone tubing, L/S 24, 25 ft.:

I would like to know the chemical compatibility chart for this product. We purchased this product to use with an aqueous sulfuric acid solution as working fluid in a vanadium redox flow battery, but the tubing has not been working properly and has got broken in the area in contact with the pump head. We have had to replace the tubing almost every day. Please see attached photos of the broken tubing.
What kind of tubing do you recommend to use for pumping an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid (5Molar) and vanadium salts (1Molar)? The pumping system is composed by the Masterflex L/S Easy-Load II Head for High-Performance Tubing, PPS/SS, and the Masterflex L/S Variable-Speed Drive w/ Remote I/O; 300 rpm. The volumetric flow rate working range is from 30 to 180mil/min.

Just the right tubing for my system

Comments about Masterflex platinum-cured silicone tubing, L/S 24, 25 ft.:

I was trying to use it on our in-house old-aged MasterFlex system and found it was just so perfect. I bought another Masterflex platinum-cured silicone tubing, L/S 15, 25 ft,which is expected to work for our system. But unfortunately, L/S 15 tubing didn't fit and work properly. Anyway, L/S 24 tubing did work well.

Comments about Masterflex platinum-cured silicone tubing, L/S 24, 25 ft.:

I like the masterflex tubing because it can be used multiple times in the field, in any kind of weather. It's large enough I.D. to fit around geoprobe tubing but still gives a good seal so there are no leaks.
