Although small in size the Raytek® MI3 features 1% accuracy with 10:1 optics designed for a wide range of applications. These economical infrared sensors are used in applications where the high temperature of the target could damage or destroy a contact sensor. The two-piece infrared system is made up of a miniature sensing head and separate communication electronics. By separating the two components it allows the sensor to be installed just about anywhere and still protect the electronics from harsh conditions. The sensor is housed in a rugged NEMA 4 (IP65) rated stainless steel enclosure that ensures long term performance, even in environments with ambient temperatures up to 250°F (120°C) without cooling.

The MI3 offers a host of advanced signal processing features you normally find in sensors costing much more. Standard features include adjustable Emissivity, Peak Hold, Valley Hold, and Averaging function. All sensor parameters are easily adjustable on the built-in user interface keypad or remotely with the DataTemp software via the built-in USB interface. Advanced features including a user configurable alarm output, digital “recipe” table inputs that can be easily interfaced to an external control system, an external reset signal input for signal processing, and external inputs for analog emissivity adjustment or reflected energy compensation.
