    Can the center (or bottom) port be used as the outlet and the side (horizontal) ports used as inputs? In other words, I want to select gas from two different supplies and feed into a single receptacle. Will this valve work?

      A:

      Yes. This valve will select between the left and right ports and have a no-flow selection. There is not a valve position to connect the left and right ports, so this should work perfectly for your needs.

  • Q:

    I am doing my masters in chemical engg at U of A, Edmonton.I would like to know whether this valve has flow shut off capability.

    I mean flow coming from a port should not be diverted into either of the two outlet ports.

      A:

      The middle flow port (down) is the common channel, so consider this channel to be 'A'. Then the left channel is 'B' and right is 'C'. There are three flow positions:
      1.) all three flow channels open ( 'A' Open, 'B' Open, 'C' Open)
      2.) All flow channels closed off ('A' Closed, 'B' Closed, 'C' Closed)
      3.) Middle port and the right port. are open ('A' Open, 'C' Open, 'B' Closed)
      There is no position for just the left and right channels ('B' & 'C' open but 'A' closed doesn’t exist)
