A:
The Wind Monitor is the actual anemometer that generates the speed and direction signals. The standard output is an AC sine wave for speed and a DC voltage value for direction; a (maximum) 15VDC power supply is required. The unit is also available as part number 99536-19 with a 4-20ma output if the 16103-74 power supply is also purchased.
The Wind Tracker is the display device that shows wind speed and direction digitally, and also a compass rose for a visual direction indication. It also supplies the correct DC voltage to operate the direction monitor, and does have alarm outputs. Purchase of the Tracker is not required to operate the Monitor though it is strongly recommended as making the Monitor operate by itself is not for the faint of heart.
