  • Q:

Can I use this product to heat a plastic drain pipe that does not have water in it all the time? I have a washing machine drain that freezes up because the drain pipe and p trap is located behind the wall in an attic space that is not heated. Most heat tape products say that they are not to be used for drain pipes.

      A:

We would not recommend using this product on a plastic surface. The heating tape could potentially damage the pipe.
