    • Q:

How many times can this tubing be autoclaved?
Asked on 7/10/2014 by neb from United States

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

At least once. There are too many application specific variables that could affect the tubings ability to support repeated sterilizations. Careful observation of the tubing properties following repeated autoclave cycles will allow you to create your own baseline.

        A:

Tygon does not have any test data to support the compatibility of this tubing with methyl salicylate. If you like we can send you a sample and you can test the tubing out. Please contact customer service at 800-323-4340. Or email me at techinfo@coleparmer.com and please put attn: mike w in the subject line. • Q:

I have both silicone tubing sku 95802-05 and Tygon 96430-02. Which tubing is best for use with gasoline?
Asked on 9/8/2009 by Anonymous from San Diego, CA

      1 answer

      • STAFF EXPERT

        A:

Unfortunately neither of these tubing formulations have a good rating with gasoline. Both of these have a "D" rating according to our chemical compatibility charts which means that the gasoline has a severe effect on the tubing and is not recommended for use. We would recommend Viton tubing for your application with gasoline. It has an "A" rating which means that the gasoline will have little to no effect on the tubing.
